Mexican on NYE

New Year’s Eve kicked off with lunch at The Prickly Pear, a Mexican restaurant over looking Lake Norman. What I love the most about this restaurant is definitely the view. Looking out into the water as you eat can be so relaxing! We started off with the Entreme or Appetizer – some Tortilla chips and Guacamole.

For my main meal, I had the Marbella which is basically shrimp, crab meat, tomato, green onion, ancho rajas, monterrey jack cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla and it was served with cilantro rice, julienne vegetables. I didn’t quite like the cilantro rice mostly because it tasted over cooked and bland. Then again, I’m not a huge fan of Mexican food, so I’m probably not the best person to rate it.

It was extremely cold outside so enjoying my meal by the lake was not an option. Although, I braved the cold for a few minutes to take some photos in my dress and admire the beauty of nature.

Excuse the grainy photos, they’re from my Instagram. #ShotOniPhone
