Life of Lies

You buried me with you

My body was hidden underneath yours

Tucked away so no one could see that I was dying

I tattooed your name on my chest so the world would see

that my body should have been yours

I should have let you self-destruct,

Let go so you wouldn’t take me with you

Your name should be the only one on my tombstone

Your memory should linger on when people walk past me

I am the place where the life you lived comes to light

I am the place where a thousand lies have been wrapped up and buried

I am the grave you spent a lifetime digging.
